MUST READ By Amazon Customer This book is a MUST read to all persons engaged in any activity with others: business people, teachers, government employees, politicians, judicial, and certainly by all students in business/management schools. While the concept of “stakeholder” was certainly imbedded in the back of the mind of everyone engaged in interactions with others, it had not been expressed openly and was not promoted as part of most strategies…Mr. Ratoff’s book arrives at the most appropriate time and should be a must read though it will not be as easy to read as a novel. By Amazon Customer This is a quick read that I think many entrepreneurs will find useful. Don't be fooled by the title, this is not a feel good business book about purpose from the perspective of doing social good, but rather a business book about achieving better business results by getting clear on purpose, discovering stakeholders who share it, enrolling them, and finally benefiting from the collective energy. I personally found the book enlightening and brings something new to my thinking.

Ford This was very helpful to differentiate "stakeholders" from "shareholders" and get a bigger picture of what is possible for more effective strategic planning in any organization - commercial, non-profit, or government.When we define our purpose to include the primary interests of all our stakeholders, we widen and deepen our reach and relationships. This is a valuable resource that deserves revisiting over time as we true up our decision making for greater impact.
