The paper is heavy and the pages are prepared for easy removal before our after coloring. The pictures are great, but I'd you want to do some of them that are more detailed, you will need a color medium with an extremely fine tip. Ocean themed coloring is my favorite and this book did not disappoint!

Good mix of designs and styles By fq9 I love this coloring book much more than others available for the following reasons:- the designs fill up the pages unlike some books which just have designs within the body of one animal and then the rest of the page is just blank,- there is a nice mix of really intricate and less intricate designs which means some pages will take a much shorter time to complete (sometimes you want to get the satisfaction of finishing quickly) while other pages will require a lot more time and requires more detailing,- some of the images already have a lot of black thicker outlines which in my opinion often makes the colors you add pop out more- the design style vary from vary to page- the quality of the paper is great- its easy to tear out the pages from the book

9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Funny, endearing, and well worth reading. By Sara S. Let me just say that I pretty much fell in love with Longinus from the synopsis alone. An assassin who’s afraid of blood? I knew from that moment that this was a book I needed to read.Well, Longinus, and the book, did not disappoint. In fact, I’d say they both exceeded my expectations. Right from the opening pages, I was sitting there grinning like a fool as Longinus performs one of his famed assassinations–with all its unexpected flair. He is a man with a muse, and when the muse speaks, one must always listen, even while offing hapless victims, it seems.He is also a man of refinement, and of unabashed self-importance who’s not afraid to show open contempt for those whom he deems beneath him, which, incidentally, is almost everyone. That kind of snobbery is incredibly entertaining, and so the bulk of my reading experience was me lounging around, giggling and grinning and thoroughly enjoying pretty much every minute of this novel.Yet Longinus isn’t the only protagonist of the story—he shares that honor with Rory, a scrappy young urchin gal who’s got about as much refinement as a mud-clad goat. Story magic happens when these two characters are thrown together to create a dynamic that’s both entertaining as well as touching. Because beneath Longinus’ bluster and Rory’s sarcastic sass are two characters with great big hearts, who are just trying to survive in a rather cruel world as best they can.I feel like a subtitle for this book should be “Rise of the Underdogs” or something like that, because that’s pretty much what this story is. It’s a story of two downtrodden characters and their struggle in life—both against their own personal demons as well as against all the crap the world throws at them. And in a city like Damsport, there’s definitely a lot of crap being flung around (figuratively, of course, though I’d not be surprised if it also happened literally—Damsport just seems like that kind of place).Now, I’m not always a fan of city settings, and perhaps less so of tropical ones, so that was probably my biggest reservation when I started reading this book. But it works. And I think it works partially from the imaginative steampunk elements (Crazy Willy was just brilliant), as well as the evocative descriptions that anchor you in the story. Whether it was running along the rooftops with Rory, or struggling to navigate through a crowded market—I felt like I was there, and it was a city I’d never seen before, and that’s pretty magical.All in all, a very enjoyable book. It’s funny, it’s endearing, and it’s well worth a read.**I recieved a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

Action, conspiracy, intigue and hilarity fill the pages of this awesome read By Catherine Mackay Ok, first off I have never read steampunk before - not generally my cup of tea, but I have been pleasantly surprised by Celine Jeanjean's The Viper and the Urchin. I first heard of the book through an interview the author did with author and blogger, Nicholas C. Rossis, and thought the book sounded interesting. I loved the two main characters, Rory and Loginus - hard not to really as both are endearing. Loginus is not a conventional hero - well, I mean he is an assassin afterall - but what a wonderful character. He is known as the Viper and his method of killing is poison. He is quite the alchemist too - in is head at least, he is Damsports best. He also, loves taking pen to paper and writing down phrases he thinks are brilliantly thought up - I think perhaps he should have chosen the theater as a profession, lol. Unfortunately, this rather dandified assassin, is also deathly afraid of blood - not good if you are meant to be not only the best alchemist, but also the best assassin in Damsport - could really ruin his reputation. Enter Rory, urchin, thief and aspiring swordswoman - if only she could find someone to train her, that is. She observes the Viper throwing up at the sight of blood and recognises an opportunity. She blackmails him, threatening to let the whole of Damsport now, that the Viper is afraid of blood. So with few options the Viper is forced to teach Rory how to use a sword - well eventually he might get around to it, after that is, he finds the sod who is trying to ruin his reputation. What follows is a story of hilarity, fun, conspiracy and intrigue. The Viper and the Urchin is a pure delight read and I am looking forward to further adventures of Rory and the Viper.

By JetGirl If you can sit on a roof somewhere, I think that would be a great place to delve into "The Viper and the Urchin", an adventure by budding author Celine Jeanjean, set in the gritty, steampunk- type world of Damsport.Two disparate personalities, together in an uneasy alliance, each with secrets, each both stronger and weaker than they seem, a hemophobic assassin and a small but streetwise urchin girl with a desire to be a hero swordswoman. Having no resources with which to achieve her dream, Rory's discovery of the Viper's weakness allowed her the leverage she needed to force him to become her teacher. Together they embarked on an unexpected adventure where they both had to face their fears and their desires, their heros and their enemies, with surprising results.In the prologue and the first chapter, I learned enough about the two titular characters to keep me reading for the better part of an evening just to find out how they'd get together. In other words, I couldn't stop reading! Luckily for me, I was on a relaxing vacation weekend where that sort of thing is completely acceptable!The two main characters were completely engaging, and I really enjoyed unfolding their backgrounds and discovering their secrets, especially Longinus, the Viper. I loved all the characters, but one of my favorite "non-central" characters (who I really hope to read more and more about in subsequent books!) was Rafe, one of the official guards who took a special interest in Rory.The assassin-spy action in the story is fast-paced and exciting, but at the same time, Celine has managed to weave in the personal stories of her characters' journeys of self-discovery, facing their fears and their temptations, and finding out how to be real-life heroes despite their flaws.The end of the story just left me wanting to know what happens next! I would say this is a great story for those who love adventure stories and unlikely pairs and who don't mind waiting for the next book! I think Celine's first novel is a stunning beginning to a very enjoyable series!

Light Normally books of this style tend to be dry and no matter how informative, very hard to get through. This book breaks that mold and in fact shatters it. Casemore’s style is one that draws in the reader. He is presenting a brilliant message that will resonate with anyone who has ever worked in virtually any industry in the world. I personally saw aspects that reminded me both of my career as a chef and my current career as a numismatist for a successful company.Casemore realizes that this isn’t a ‘how to’ and you can’t simply use this for a quick fix but he is presenting the way to make a business successful. It won’t be easy but this path to Operational Empowerment is brilliant. You get this right from the beginning. The section ‘Join the Operational Empowerment Community’ section right before Part 1 is brilliant. The introduction whets the appetite of the reader and this provides a hearty buffet of info that could go a long way to helping a company maximize its productivity.There are a few key aspects to this book that I seized upon. Not all creative thinking is good see New Coke, and the big one – the key to success is the people who work for your business. All businesses have the same opportunity to use the same technology, same markets etc. It is who you have doing your work that sets a company apart. Maintaining morale and interest is key. This book is easily readable, full of common sense and applicable to every sized business. A must read for anyone who is working for and/or running a business today.One small issue I had is often times Casemore is presenting a list of key information that backs up his point and he goes only so far and then says…for more…see the website… I am not sure if this was done for brevity or because an editor suggested it. Shawn Casemore makes the complex simple and provides readers with engaging stories and advice based on experience working with some of the world's top companies. I particularly enjoyed reading about the "aha" moment one of his clients had when Shawn suggested obtaining employee input when formulating a company's strategy. After all, who knows more about what is going on inside the company and what customers are seeking than those who are involved in delivering products and services on a daily basis? By doing so, Shawn was able to help his client increase employee engagement (and I'm betting productivity and profitability) with this one suggestion. The book is filled with many more examples of how to empower people and drive business results. Well worth the read.

There's action & adventure, word play & wit, and silliness all around. I can't even name another author who comes close to this style - it's a real pleasure to read. Unless maybe you're French. Seriously, it's fantastic if you want to forget about the real world for a while. This will take you back to a (ridiculous) past that never was.

By Kassy Fans of humorous sci-fi action/adventure will love this tale of Damian Stockwell, handsome adventurer, entrepreneur, and hero and his manservant Bertrand. Back we go to the 1930’s as America and the world struggle with the Great Depression. Scientists are planning to show off their achievements in robotics at the Century of Progress exhibition in Chicago. That includes Damian Stockwell who will debut his mechanical robot butler, made in the image of his own Bertrand, along with his home of the future. All does not go well at the fair.I had many laugh out loud moments reading this book. The narrative is reminiscent of the old fashioned newsreel action storylines and the tongue-in-cheek and blatant humor kept me chuckling. Example, while a gone-wild robot terrorizes a midget village, “In short, it was a big deal.” There are so many more amusing references to historical people, places, and things. Interaction between Stockwell and Bertrand is hilarious, despite Bertrand’s annoyingly cute French accent.This novel is the third Stockwell novel, but it is actually a prequel to the other two. No need to have read them, but once you read this one, you’ll probably want to read them too.I received an Advanced Review Copy of this book, with the request that if I liked it I leave a review. Dwyer This was my first exposure to Damian Stockwell, and I'm mildly appalled with myself for enjoying it so much. How Benjamin Wallace is able to create a character who so consistently makes me want to kick him in the shins -- HARD -- while simultaneously rooting for him is beyond me, but I'm glad he did.Damian is better than you. At everything. And he won't hesitate to let you know it. Unfortunately for those close to him (even by mere proximity), he's also the person for whom the term "git" was made. He has a unique view of the world that flummoxes politicians and journalists alike, forcing them to conclude that Mr. Stockwell must know something they don't because otherwise he is a complete blinkered idiot. And while a blowhard might be acceptable as a scion of society and industry, a complete blinkered idiot shouldn't have quite so much influence.Then there's Damian's loyal, long-suffering butler Bertrand. Bertrand knows exactly why Damian's picture appears beside "git" in the dictionary ... because he made the submission himself.Add these two to the 1933 World's Fair, throw in a few murderous automatons, and you've got action adventure comedy gold.
