Stacey Marie brown may be new to the PNR book world, but good God you don't want to miss her books. She has such a fluid and addicting writing style. The kind that just sucks you in and you see the whole story playing out in your head as you read, like a mental movie.I've read her books, all of them, and they keep getting better and better. Which is saying something, because I think they were already amazing from the get go.She kills me with cliffhangers. However she's got the type of books that even with a cliffhanger I can still remember the last book two or three months later. I can pick up the new release and feel all those same emotions and be right back where I was at the end of the last book.Emotions. Man, one emotion I had in spades while reading this book was anger. I was so damn angry at RYker and Amara. Just typing her name makes me wanna throw a pillow. She is the perfect villain. But Ryker, I'm so mad at him. How he acted. How he treated Zoe. It was like he was two different people.Now, curve balls. I totally didn't see these coming. Stacey surprised me and also made me laugh many times with that little Sprite. She's mad me hot, so hot, angry, love someone I thought I hated, like someone I am pretty sure I didn't like, and just all around love this book so much I didn't want it to end. So well done Stacey. So well done.

I like how she thinks and goes after what she wants. Sprig was still awesome and funny, and while Ryker sometimes has his crazy attitudes he definitely had me swooning. Amara I wanted to kick in the face. There are some twists, plenty of action and great romance!

By YA Book Madness Blog 4.5 StarsI recieved this book as a giftWhen I read City in Embers, I was wowed. I LOVED that book but this one is even better. Sometimes the sequel falls flat, no worries, just as fresh and action-packed as the first book with an added layer of carnal lust.PROS:An adrenaline rush from the first page to the last, The Barrier Between will consistently keep your heart racing. From the thrill of the Fight Club-esque arena to the fae infested wild of South America, every page is a new adventure.Sprig is hilarious. His antics are adorable. A spritely, spirited little fae monkey with an obsession with honey and all things sugar. His comments are spot on and sarcastic, bringing tons of light and laughter to a terrible situation. From his love of reality tv to his narcolepsy, every scene is filled with joy. Plus, his curses are the cutest.The beloved Viking. I didn’t think it was possible for him to get any hotter but I was WAY wrong. Ryker is sex and sin, lust and angst, desire and animalistic intentions all rolled in one very sexy package. Gruff, angry, and with a tendency towards violence, Ryker is a terrifying adversary, his whole image is menacing between his huge physique and BA ax, there’s nothing this man can’t slaughter. What’s more, when Ryder is vulnerable it’s deliciously sinful. His compassion, his battle scars, his dark past all make him a complex, deep, and devoted man. Some scenes he’s sweet and kind and others, holy hotness, get ready to fan yourself.Zoey is changed. She’s not the hardened criminal she once was, there’s a softness to her that’s very appealing especially accompanied by her rage induced tenacity in battle. Fiesty, fierce, and a killer fighter with her fists, Zoey’s alter ego, the Avenging Angel has come a long way. Above everything, Zoey is a survivor. She’ll fight until the last making her incredibly brave but what is even more admirable is her decision to open her heart to love again. Dreamy sigh.OMG the chemistry. The sexual tension and frustration is almost overwhelming it’s so strong. Every encounter is a heady mix of fury and attraction, they want to punch each other as often as they want to rip their clothes off.New characters were a pleasant surprise. Heading back to the fight ring to meet AB, tossing in a greater look at the illusive Amara, and introducing Cryogen-that man, think Jack Sparrow.CONS:Some dramatic scenes were almost too easily resolved. Just when things were starting to get dire, some twist of fate pulled them of the danger zone. I.E. the Avenging Angel fight.
