About the Author Passionate about helping people find jobs, careers, and God’s calling, Brian Ray founded Crossroads Career Network 15 years ago. The network grew to a national membership of churches with over 36,000 registered “career explorers and jobseekers.” Brian was also the founder and owner of Primus Consulting, a retained executive search consulting firm specializing in recruiting the right people for leadership. Formerly, Brian was Vice President and Executive Committee Member of the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain, where he was responsible for Human Resources, Operator Ventures and Administration. My family has personally experienced the timely support, wise guidance, and practical hands-on help of a Crossroads Career Network ministry in our local church. I am so grateful my church leadership saw the need (in fact as the book points out--the number one felt need) for people to have "good jobs" and that the Church can be a vital part of meeting that practical need while pointing people to their deeper need for Christ. Part career guide/ part ministry blueprint, this book is a must-have resource for anyone who lost their job, loves their job, hates their job or wants to help people experiencing any of the above. I would put one in the hands of every church leader I know if I could.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. SF meets Gothic Urban Fantasy By Deborah Jay I don’t like zombie books.I don’t like zombie books.Do you get the picture clearly enough? I don’t like zombie books - and yet I loved this one!Perhaps that’s because it’s never totally spelled out that Thane is a zombie, although there’s little doubt (to me) that’s the case. She can survive any physical trauma that gets thrown at her (there are gory bits in this book); she can’t eat (except for her special soup made of – you’ve guessed it – liquidized human organs); if bits of her get cut off, they make their way back to her and re-attach themselves, good as new (useful skill, that!).It took me a while to realise what she is, and longer for her to do the same, (sorry if this is too much of a spoiler for you), by which time I’d become invested in her situation. The book opens with her trying to find something out about her background, and moves swiftly into a fast-paced action sequence which culminates in her being captured by the military and taken to a secret underground base where they keep other misfits like her. Well, not exactly like her; apart from being teens, they all have very different and often bizarre abilities.Refreshingly racially diverse, with views of life that range from almost total catatonia, through angry to humorous, this group of waifs and strays make this book so much more than a traditional coming of age adventure. Yes, there is teenage angst; yes, there is the embarrassed teenage sexual fumbling (never explicit, so fine for younger readers); and yes, there is a teenage rebellious streak running through them all of miles wide.And yet when pitted against a sinister alien also held in the facility, and it comes down to saving the human race, they somehow manage to pull it together in a believable fashion.This is the first in the ‘We the People’ series, but to my relief it does have an exciting and satisfying climax and resolution to this section of the story – yay for proper endings!Another reviewer categorized ‘Inalienable’ as Goth Urban Fantasy, and I’d go right along with that description. Highly recommended if this is your type of read.

By Sarah Shellard I enjoyed Inalienable, first book of the We the People series, by Christopher Scott Wagoner.The story begins with, and centers around, the main character Thane, a young amnesiac looking for her birth parents, and jumps right into some marvelous action. From there, Wagoner takes us on a decidedly off-beat and fun to read journey of teen angst, clandestine government agencies, conspiracy theories, and budding self-discovery.And he pulls it off!I could easily see a clever TV series or movie adaptation, and hope someone who can make that happen reads this and agrees!Take one part X-Men, one part Evil Dead, and one part Hellboy, throw in the cheekier parts of Independence Day, simmer in just enough teen angst, season with some young Samuel L. Jackson, garnish with a severed limb and a few eyeballs, and serve with a side of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and you'll have an idea what this book is like.Due to Wagoner halting the sexual content at the nascent, pubescent teen stage, I can happily recommend Inalienable to anyone 7th grade and older who enjoys a fun story with a little gore and occasional kissing.Aside from the, admittedly fun gore, Wagoner's characters and interpersonal scenes set really good examples for youth just exploring sex. His cast is racially diverse and he treats the female characters with respect.If we are ever going to change our children's concept of "cool" from lustful, gluttonous, greedy rap stars adorned with gold, guns, and half-naked women, as if they were all objects to be bought and discarded, we, as writers and parents, must start providing our youth with examples of heroes (even anti-heroes) who value women, education, and respect.Wagoner achieves this in Inalienable, and I applaud him for it. While this book may be, in the narrowest terms, a Goth Urban Fantasy, the categorizations available on Amazon.com fail to encompass the actual point:Inalienable is a good read for adults and kids (once they start thinking about making out), and Inalienable is an excellent example of an Author giving youth an easily accessible and enjoyable cast of characters whose morals are WORTH aspiring to.

Inalienable by Christopher Scott Wagoner is a wonderful geeky book about a girl with superhero-esque abilities By Marcus We The People: Inalienable, by Christopher Scott Wagoner, is a wonderfuly geeky book about a girl with superhero-esque abilities being abducted by the government. One of the things that really made the book for me was the fact that the characters were easily relatable in a lot of ways, such as how they think, interact with each other, etc. As you read the book, you can easily tell how much of the author's nerdiness has rubbed off on the book in how the characters interact with each other. One of my favourite things about this book is how the characters visibly, but subtly progress and mature over the course of the story. It's a very nice change of pace from books where the characters stay static. Overall, this book is a fantastic book for middle-high school age children to Adults and Young Adults.

There are about 50 pages to color, then there are cards, gift tags, and book marks to color cutout and fold. The paper is very good quality (thick). The pictures are all on one side of the book. Some of the designs have nice inspirational quotes on them and some do not. Will be getting more copies of this book for my friends at Christmas time as gifts. Do yourself a favor and buy this book! For all that you get, the price is fantastic! I just can't say enough about this book!

Delightful By Gail (Maya-G) Taylor Exactly what I've been looking for - this is a great book for markers, for adults and kids alike, it's uplifting, and has a great variety from paisley prints to mandala-like images to pages with quotes you can put up on your wall...love love love this book. I just wish I could find a pdf version so it can be colored on via ipad tablet!!Highly, highly recommended!

By Dennis Eagle As a business owner, I see failure in Customer Service as a wound that's bleeding out revenues resulting in a shrinking bottom line. In a virtual world with access to so many potential customers we seem to lose the value of one. This disease of low quality customer service seems to be afflicting business personal from C-level Executives to the Maintenance staff while yielding diminishing revenues. Jackie's book on Customer Loyalty 101 provides three simple disciplines to remedy this growing problem. And she promises it can work in any industry at any level.Marketing is one of our chief investments but Repeat and Referral Clients cost very little. Going forward, the the simple disciplines of "The 3 Keys of Customer Loyalty" will be taught to each of our staff. I gladly recommend this author and book.

I've read many books and attended many seminars on this topic, but not one of them addressed the valuable information this short book provides. It's clear, concise language helps you put principles into practice right away. I can't wait to see the results of applying these simple techniques. I highly recommend this book to anyone in the service industry who wants LOYAL customers.
