These unwarranted costs mean that you will have to make sacrifices in your quality of life in retirement. More work, less control and time for you and your Family, reduced opportunity, etc. This is wrong. You are saving for your future - not to support the financial services industry! Don't accept this - do something about it. Improve Your Employer’s 401k Plan will explain how to fix your plan so you keep more of your money and enhance your retirement prospects.

East to Read, Great Insights for Everyone who has a 401k Plan By Tina Pofe As an 401k Plan Auditor, I read this book to gain a further understanding of plan fees and what steps the Employer could take to improve the plan. It is my go to guide when advising my 401k audit clients that they need to go through an RFP process. The book provides practical easy to understand advice for everyone, whether you are the business owner, human resources, finance, employee, beneficiary, etc. We are all affected by excessive fees, and I find there are far too many plans in this excessive fee category due to a lack of knowledge. Employees need to be proactive in this, as this is THEIR retirement savings at risk. Employees should analyze the plan fees, determine if excessive and bring to the attention of their Employer. Simple (but really effective) book helped us change our 401k goals By Tmcd-MN Came across this book when looking for some options on managing our current and past employer 401k plans. Pretty easy read. Author does a nice job of laying out the thought process to guide my wife and in setting personal goals toward having a much better plan. I have an 'ok' understanding of financial markets, but I found this book gave me a much, much better sense of what a good 401k plan would even look like. The case studies were particularly useful. I haven't seen anything else written by this author, but I am very satisfied with this book

Great Resource By Amazon Customer I purchased this book to gain a better understanding of retirement plans so that I can offer a better and more valuable plan for my employees. No one has explained plans this way to me before. It was a quick read that didn't get lost in financial industry runaround jargon. This really is a set of simple steps to make the plan better and cheaper for my employees. Every HR person should read this to better understand the plan offered to your employees.
