The story lines were extremely creative and will keep you on your toes the entire time. It is by far the best series I have ever read. You will feel for every single character in these books whether good or bad and you will feel it down to the core. I was not able to put down any of the 6 books (including the prequel) because I just had to know what was going to happen next. At the end I was happy for Muse, Stefan, Ryder & Jenna but so sad it was over. Every detail was so descriptive that I felt I was there watching the story unfold right before my eyes. Nothing was ever expected and had me either giddy with happiness or deeply hurting for Muse and Stefan. I so recommend to read the entire series and I promise that you will love it as much as I do!!
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Thinking of Playing Hookey By Amazon Customer Pippa DaCosta spins a bowl of spaghetti that has the reader never knowing where the next turn will be. She has designed her own netherworld with its own special characteristics. Those with a familiarity with the Boston will note many landmarks, though this reader had to rely upon Google Maps to get the geographical feel. Reading three of the novels in a row I need to catch up on some other stuff.Hmmm… Maybe I can put off the other stuff while I sneak in Volume IV. Stay tuned.

Pippa DaCosta spins a story with a mythical background that seems plausible. Muse finds herself becoming something with a dark and aggressive side, which she has to learn to accept and build on, developing into the strong "take no prisoners" heroine she needs to be to enable this kick-ass story to develop. Of course, a good story needs a good supporting cast, and Akil, her combination mentor/saviour/ and to coin a new adjective - dementor, really helps keep the plot twisting. I devoured the whole series and now I am woebegone that I have finished it :(
