About the Author Anne Taintor created her first images 25 years ago, cutting and gluing images and captions sitting at her kitchen table. Now she and her daughter apply current, slightly twisted captions to vintage magazine clippings from the '40s and '50s. Her magnets, journals, and many other items featuring these designs are in distribution at specialty stores throughout the country. 25 of 26 people found the following review helpful. Disappointed By B. Herrin I'm pretty disappointed after receiving and looking through the calendar. I collect Anne Taintor products because of the humor in the brash and abrasiveness of the messaging, but this calendar is quite frankly disappointing. Several of the messages are mediocre at best and despite the size of the calendar advertised, it has a lot of white space and the actual functionality to take notes on the days is non-existent. I questioned the price a bit because Anne Taintor products normally seem to have a slight inflation due to the niche market, but it seems to me that the cheaper price reflects the lack of Anne Taintor's true quality you get in her other products. I hope my uploaded photographs help others to make a decision based on their needs.****** Update January 2015******After feedback, I'm updating this review to include the quotes in the calendar (in no particular order) SPOILER ALERT !! SPOILER ALERT !!- "You'll never forget to turn off the oven if you never turn it on" (cover photograph)- "People who need people haven't tried lemon flavored vodka" (this one pictures a woman with a martini glass)- "My mascara ran I'm counting it as exercise" (this one pictures a woman wiping mascara off her face)- "If they can send a man to the moon I’m certain they can send a smart mouth teenager" (this one pictures a woman and child)- "Parenting...when messing up your own life just isn't enough" (this one also pictures a woman and child)- "I only have time for the truly important things" (this one pictures a woman vacuuming)- "Join another committee? Why, I'd love to!" (this one pictures a woman on the phone)- "His snoring is so much better...thank you, duct tape!" Loew I have been ordering the calendar religiously for the past 5 years and always get a kick out of the captions used for these old 1950's illustrations and ads. I love vintage art and advertising so it's a perfect match for me. I have bought luggage tags, note pads, post its, mugs...you name it...great for gifts and very fun to use.
