0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Disappointed ( does contain spoilers) By Andrew Dawe I started the series out with Awakened with Carson and Gemma's story and fell in love with it! The characters were awesome and the story had so much room to grow but after reading book three the story started to drop off after that. It was rushed with Ty and Trick's stories for them to find love and their own magic. The darkness seemed to grow overnight suddenly where as the first stories it's a slow progress then suddenly gets defeated by one person? What was the point of all the people finding each other to fight the darkness if only one person had to do it? Seems like the thought process from the beginning doesn't match the ending. I was very disappointed by the end of this one, the stories were rushed and I felt that the characters didn't get the full development they needed. Trick remained in a wheelchair anyways after he was angry and resentful for two books which his anger made me irritated instead of understanding for what happened. He had no regard at all for the fact Gemma nearly killed herself trying to bring him back from the dead, but instead hated her and everyone because he had no legs. Ty seemed to push his relationship so quickly onto Sadie I felt bad for the girl, she has a little son and got thrown into this huge mess and within a few days it's all fine? It started getting rushed from book 3 but at least with Alina and Dez you could see some of the development starting from the previous books. I also was very sad to see that almost nothing happened with Carson and Gemma's relationship in the end, they were the original couple to start the soul shifter story yet they got nothing in the end. It seemed that the author wanted to make Isabel the more important female character since she got married and was pregnant in the epilogue. It was also troubling to see how lacking of a character Gemma and Carson became, they had little to no story line after the second book. I would have much rather had a lone story about Gemma and Carson, they were the original couple that made me love the idea of this story and then the author gave up on them completely to write stories with couples that found their bond within a few days or hours not very realistic. I had thought Carson was going to play a much larger role in dealing the darkness since he was the first soul shifter and had the biggest issues with preseton, plus I was hoping to find out Gemma was going to be pregnant not Isabel. I wouldn't recommend the rest of the series, the first book is the only one I like after reading them all. Very disappointed with this series it could of been wonderful.

Sadie believes that Trick needs love in his life, so she sets him up on blind dates. Trick is ill-mannered with every woman until Keira. Keira sets him on fire, and all he wants is to please her.....A hurricane and the DEADLY DARKNESS IS COMING TO DESTROY EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH......The story is jammed packed with amazing impressive and engaging characters, camaraderie, life threatening incidents, banter superb, scene descriptions fabulous, amazing reveals, monsters wreaking havoc, sizzling earth-shattering heart-pounding pulsating romance that will have you awe-struck, and an ending of a captivating series that will melt your heart and make you smile......Exciting incredible well written read. Sennah has definitely pushed the boundaries of imagination with this enthralling unique series. I loved every minute of this journey with the Soul Shifters.. Trick is still trying to get use to being in a wheelchair and is struggling with anger and jealousy over his friends finding love and magic. Kiera is Sadie's BBF and does her a favor and goes on a date with Trick and it turns into a series of dates. This book has a twist but I won't give away any spoilers so you have to read it to find out. While I enjoyed this story I wished we learned more about Kiera and her backstory and I thought the final fight should have been longer and that the whole group would have taken part. All of previous couples are in this story and we get a little information about each couples future.I was given a copy of this book for a honest review.

Trade Monster’s affiliate OptionsHouse can be used for Weekly Options trading if you have a minimum of $2,000 in the account. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for an engaging and refreshing adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world. Dr. Kaiser has a true knack for writing and story telling that quickly reveals itself in this incredibly well-written book.While hard to classify, this story elegantly intertwines a post-apocalyptic journey with an unexpected love story.This blending of genres is one of the books greatest strengths in that it makes for a truly gripping story that is not too far-fetched.The pacing is right on and does an excellent job of enhancing the author's ability to bring the story to life. Speaking of which, the author's ability to construct a scene is truly impressive and will leave you with many long lasting memories of this story.I truly appreciate and enjoy the author's boldness when incorporating vulgarity, eroticism, and cruelty throughout this adventure. These aspects bring balance to the story and make for a believable and realistic post-apocalyptic atmosphere.In eager anticipation for a sequel, I have already subscribed to be notified of the author's new releases!

By Nicolas Wilson The writing slowed me down in places; it was beautiful and competent, but at times a bit too dense to pull me through smoothly. That's just my own preference for minimalist, fast-moving narration. Still, the story was well done, the worldbuilding quite thorough, and there was a charming personality to the narration. There were a few aspects of the worldbuilding and dialogue that seemed derivative of A Clockwork Orange, particularly, but that's not bad company to be in.It opens with a strong sense of mystery, that's amplified by the style of the prose. And every inch of it is cultivated with a very unique aesthetic in mind. It's not quite my narrative preference, but it worked well.Such a fun read!

The hero has an "eye" for detail and quick wit for preparedness of a rough and tumble sort. Reviews which mention squeamishness are correct, for rarely do readers get so far "into" a character's problems as to participate in the wild and wooly post apocalyptic settings root, branch, and rifle as well as his solutions. "Crude," says one reviewer -- welcoming life on the run. I too await the sequel. Eagerly.Great quick read with memories that will last, scenes "painted" to last much much longer.

The world as we know it is destroyed when a regional conflict spins out of control, pulling other nations into the war. By Carrie Bartkowiak I am a devourer of dystopian and post-apoc novels, and I have to say this one is different. That's a good thing. It doesn't feel like you're reading the same novel over again, written by a different author.Mr. Parker takes an unprepared, typical current-day couple and throws them into the chaos that is a post-nuclear war. Chuck, the husband, has seen some of the horrors already, while his wife Becca has been sheltered from them, safe in their apartment. After seeing what radiation can do to a human being (Mr. Parker takes the route that an extreme, but non-lethal dose of radiation will drive a person mad), Chuck knows that it's time to get out of the city. Even while they're traveling on bikes across the country, Becca is still light-hearted and looking forward to finding a private room with a soft bed somewhere, while Chuck is constantly looking over his shoulder for muggists, ambushes, and radiation "zombies".They do find a town, and this is where the story really takes off and differentiates itself.We don't have a superhero, ex-military, totally prepared protagonist who knows just the right thing to do at the right time and can get it done with a paper clip and half a piece of gum. Chuck's a bean-counter with a healthy dose of common sense, but not so much in the way of a spine. He knows he and Becca should keep traveling south so they can survive the coming winter. He knows that scavenged cans of food will eventually run out and the only way to survive is to get somewhere that they can start a garden. But Becca is still stuck in the normalcy bias that everything is basically okay, people are still basically okay, and the only real change is that the power isn't on and faucets don't work. She wants to stay in the town because it seems to be practically Mayberry, while Chuck's gut feeling is raging at him to keep moving. He gives in to her wishes, just wanting to keep his wife as happy and innocent as possible in this horrible existence, even when he knows he shouldn't.What follows is almost heart-breaking. We watch the Chuck's transition from a decent man to something he never imagined himself becoming - the type of man that all preppers fear WTSHTF. He's sort-of tricked into it, but even once he realizes what he's doing, he doesn't put his foot down and stop. He tries to justify it. He tries to tell himself that it's necessary for his and Becca's survival. He hates what he is becoming, he hides it from his wife, and he tries to prepare for the day when he'll be able to escape the vicious group he's become part of - but again, his spine isn't strong enough yet, and he stays far too long.Is he weak? Uber-alpha males would see him as so, but in reality he's just an average guy with a pretty wife he wants to protect and keep safe, and the whole post-nuclear world drops him into a life where he's way over his head. He *is* everyman - one of the "golden horde" that will either become prey from weakness or predator from necessity. It's both interesting - in a train wreck kind of way - and heartbreaking to watch his slide into predator.As for the typical environmental fodder of a post-nuclear world, the book has it: raiders, ambush teams, gangs and whatnot. Parker mixes it up by tossing in slavers, "intelligent" (and even "evolved") zombies, and mutant radiation-affected animals.There is one near-rape scene depicted, and a few descriptions of off-scene rape occurrences (they don't go into detail), so be warned if that's a trigger for you.A good story with real character growth and a satisfying ending, presenting some new ideas for the post-apoc genre. You won't regret this purchase.

Riveting and engaging By Andrea Goergen Enduring Armageddon takes a more personal view of a post-nuclear war situation than GNASH, Brian Parker's first novel. I was a huge fan of GNASH, and must say that I found Enduring Armageddon even more engaging. The plot centers on a couple's struggle to cope and survive in a new world after a devastating nuclear attack on the United States. This new world is filled with murderous creatures, horrible people, and unimaginable hurdles. Once again, the author's in-depth understanding of military operations is obvious and enhances the story. Though grittier than GNASH, Enduring Armageddon perfectly evokes an emotional connection to the characters as they find unlikely allies and encounter very realistic scenarios involving very difficult decisions. The humanity of this book shines through. Great read! I highly recommend it!

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Interesting Trip By Kindle Customer This post nuclear armageddon tale has some definite quirks to it and often goes in unexpected directions. We have survivors from Chicago making their way out of the city and headed south when events overtake them. This story really explores the idea of situational ethics and takes a look at how events can free the dark side of human nature. All is not lost, though, and we meet some truly good people along the way. The author leaves the story open for a sequel and I would be glad to read it. Warning-not for readers with a weak stomach.

Olive This review is for the three book series of Tyler G. : Among the Living, Living Proof, The Living and the Dead.A new character, Tyler Garnett ("Call me Ty") is out jogging early one morning and encounters a gang assaulting a young woman. Being a good guy, he tries to help before he realizes that the gang are all vampires - as is the victim. Despite his certainty that he is going to die, he manages to survive by a combination of luck, some rudimentary martial arts training, and the onset of dawn which weakens and eventually stuns the gang.Of course, this really isn't the whole explanation. During the course of the story we encounter Kelsey, Zack, Eve, and most of the other characters in the story arc. If you enjoyed the earlier stories you will enjoy these as well.As a self-published author PS Power has the freedom to break most of the rules. After writing a sub-series "Other Places" he had the chutzpah to re-write and publish it as "Alternate Places" set in an alternate reality. Both series are good and worth reading, but I cannot imagine a publishing company allowing this to happen. He experiments with multiple different genres and styles of writing as well - mysteries, romance, etc.Many of his protagonists are 'over-powered' which is a stylistic mortal sin for traditional books. Increasingly more authors are successfully 'sinning' in this way. Notable examples are John Conroe, Laurence Dahners, and Glenn Bullion.As part of his wildly creative style he will sometimes deal with some philosophical point of views that are off-putting. The first book contains an anti-feminist plot element that is jarring. His vampires, shifters, and Aledes seem real enough, but the radical feminist characters seem so unreal as to break immersion. I recommend skipping through this part and getting back to the main story, which is quite good.

Lots of Fun for Fans of the Greater Demon Universe By Dave Phipps This takes place in the Keeley / Zack / Eve universe (greater demons, vampires, shifters, adelede, etc.). Tyler is human, or at least that's what he thinks. He has to navigate a world he isn't prepared for, but manages to surprise everyone, including himself.This is a fun story. Lot's of twists and turns, lot's of character development, and a great deal of interaction with several people we have met in other books. That interaction is what really made me enjoy the book. We get to see other sides of the characters we've met previously, and see them through the eyes of someone else.There is a bit of sex, but nothing too graphic. I would recommend a slightly older audience, but mid-teen and older should be fine.If you like the other Keeley / Zack / Eve books, you'll love this series. If you like any other P.S. Power books, start with Demon Girl (Keeley Book 1) and work through that series. I highly recommend it.

By Amazon Customer Tyler G.'s story continues, told in "Power's typical fashion -- a linear, first-person POV. We learn more of Tyler's background while being forced to read through religious and feminist "rants". The author becomes what he derides, selectively stating only "facts" that agree with his own opinions, rather than an open-minded inclusive approach with adequate research.(We) could take it as only "in-story opinions", but they go on far too long for that... I've subtracted (at least) a star for the rants.
