By Lyryal Welcome to the world of Gears and Gunfighters, a Weird West Universe in which Vikings settlements not only survived but thrived in the northern part of what we call the North American continent, the Union of the Americas is constrained by the Vikings of the Sworn Territories to the north, and where Steamhorses ride the range, Airships rule the skies, steam still rules the rails, and Samantha Colt's patented Steamhammer can fill you with lead if you're fool enough to get caught on the wrong end of the barrel.Along the way you'll find gunfighters and gearsmen, outlaws hired as sheriffs, a megalomaniacal mayor, conspiracy, intrigue, espionage, and the shocking discovery that Æther Quartz is real - and in the hands of a madman.Weird West/ Steampunk meets 1860s Dime Novels, and it's good.The Gears & Gunfighters series is strongly reminiscent of Beadle's's serialized "Dime Novels" in the fast paced action of the series, and interestingly sympathetic main characters, leaving me waiting with anticipation for the next installment.And, checking an inflation calculator, the Kindle versions of this series are comparably priced - except with more pages, and better covers.For those of us who appreciate curling up with good book - and enjoy the heft of a good page-turner in which we may immerse ourselves - I recommend buying this three-in-one volume.You'll enjoy the fast paced action, interesting and complex protagonists, and you won't have to wait to have the next book delivered when there's a cliffhanger - you have all three books, and can read all the way through every unexpected plot twist to the conclusion of this, the MAJOR GEARS trilogy, the inception of the Gears and Gunfighters Universe.
