I found myself speed reading through whole sections and that is never a good sign. Needs to pick up the pace in future editions.

By Amazon Customer Just finished this 3rd installment today.A story of death of friends, human catastrophe, lost battles, and future hope. A story of manipulation and destiny continues.Spoiler - We get a glimpse of where the source of Aruns Armies will come from. But that will be a story behind another book in the series.Much more background in this 3rd book. The fun days of youth are behind us. The hard facts of sacrifice and war are upon us.Like other comments on reviews, I would recommend reading the first two books first. The author did take the time to supply a few pages of the story so far from the first two books.Look forward to the 4th installment. Giving this book a solid 4 star review.

By tpatt I have been enjoying this series from the beginning, and book 3 continues the trend. The author is working with a vast landscape, so he has a lot of room to work with this story line that I would envision will continue for an additional number of volumes. This volume wraps up a few loose ends from the previous stories, setting up a villain that will likely appear in future volumes, and exposing both the strengths and weaknesses of the hero. I certainly will keep investing in the future editions, and I hope the author can keep advancing the story.

Aside from searching out the one and only man that has ever set her blood on fire. And so what if he just happens to be a vampire?Afton never had a chance at a normal life. Taken from her mother at three, injected with the vampire virus to make her strong, and then taught to be an assassin, she was destined to never be more than an Extinguisher. However, I think Afton makes the best of her bad situation. Although having had all emotion trained out of her, she's not cold or uncaring. While she may not know the right way to react to situations that don't call for action, she does take the time to step back, study the situation and figure it out. The fact that she is open to growth, both physical and emotional, says a lot about her character. In this way, Ethan really brings out the best in her, forces her to reveal her human side.Ethan, on the other hand, is not what I'd normally expect out of a vampire. Knowing full well that Afton's entire life has been devoted to the destruction of his kind, he's still very drawn to her. His refusal to abandon her to herself is just one indication of both his desire to have her and his determination to make her learn how to trust. His total and complete devotion to her and her well-being is endearing, however, and doesn't come off as weak or sappy, which is a nice change.Aside from the few instances where I was unsure whether Afton was still reliving a memory or back in the present, I completely enjoyed Kiss Me Before I Die. With unique characters and an intriguing plot, you can't help but be captivated by the storyline. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Loved it! By R. Mitchell Who wouldn't love an Alpha male vampire who loves with all he is. If only I had an Ethan of my own. And Afton, an Alpha female who's more than she seems. A female that kicks tail and doesn't bother to take names. Put them together and you have an awesome team. They band together to find out the secret that scares her so that they can be together. A truly warped fairy tale with its own wicked Russian godfather of sorts. I can hardly wait for the next one.

More Motivation than Insightful Help By Matthew Morine Main Idea of the Text: The intention of the book is to help a leader to understand his nature leadership style by knowing the strengths and weaknesses of each natural inclination.The Three Top Ideas of Greatest Benefit:1. The book states, "Good leadership is about learning to tap into your strengths, which we all have, and either enhancing those areas you are weaker in or surrounding yourself with others who have what you lack." This is the key to leadership and to this book. The book deals with knowing your positive characteristics and your negative weaknesses so that you can improve or develop a team around you. This helps a minister in hiring and working with people to improve the congregation.2. Another top benefit of the book was learning that I am a natural commander. This is one part of the leadership style that I use. I am also strong in being a coach. Sometimes this is the most natural way for me to lead. There is also a counseling aspect, but this is more in times of conflict than in positive opportunities to expand the kingdom of God. Counseling is more of a self-defense tactic.3. The final top idea or helper is the sections on dealing with the other styles of leadership in communication and in mentoring. By changing the approach this will only benefit all parties involved. Not everyone speaks the same language. The Three Ideas of Major disagreement:1. So far, this book seemed a little swallow compared to the rest of the books. The book seemed too much little John Maxwell's leadership material which is too much story and feel good material, but really no more than inspirational leadership suggestions.2. Another suggestion for the book would be to attach this to a common personality test. The four major styles of leadership are expressions of the "DISC" personality test. It would be nice for a combination of the two tests so that people could understand better the difference between the personalities.3. The conclusion was weak as well. It was just some feel good stories and notes taken from other books.The Recommendation of the Book: I would recommend this book because of the understanding of the four natural styles of leadership and how these styles affect a leader's interaction with others.

Since I have a little Coach (another one of the leadership styles in the book) I'll stop ordering and convince you of your need. :)I have one copy. I plan to buy many more copies. As I grow my team here in Nashville I plan to use the book with my Key leadership as a quick testing/training tool. This book offers you the ability to take the teams you manage/lead on a journey of self discovery. In addition, it allows you to scope out your team and assure that they are in the right positions...based upon how they are wired.This quick read is perfect for leaders...who are mostly always on the go. John and Lorraine write a book that seems very conversational...and comfortable. In addition, John's authenticity comes through loud and clear.Not your traditional..."do it this way or you really are not a leader"...leadership book. Buy one...and then buy all of your team members one.

In this case and old Captain and a very old ship which is being decommissioned. The ongoing battle with the new commander who is trying turn the ship into a museum and his wanting to have the ship ready to fight is a matter of who outsmarts who. Who knew his old obsolete ship would stand up take charge in the fight to save earth. I am really looking forward to the next book.

Frankly, the first few background chapters were so bad that I put the book aside for another SF action novel followed by a history of post-Columbus intercontinental biological cross-fertilization. Nevertheless, since I am somewhat both a mizer and a masochist, I picked it up again, and as I struggled on eventually found the tale to be pretty good space opera in the Doc. Smith tradition. The crew members of Constitution and their interactions are very much unoriginal original Star Trek. (We even have a chief engineer called Scotty. though female.) Still the battle scenes are exciting with lots of human sacrifice and the science behind the weapons isn't too bad although we all should know that given current physics and materials science spaceship armor is not likely to be very effective against near lightspeed projectles or antimatter particle weapons no matter how thick or of what composition,etc.Melodrama, of which space opera is one variety, always rescues the protagonists from certain death and condemns minor characters to the cruelty of unjust fate. (For my generation whether in pulp or on the silver screen such tales were called cliff-hangers, or for you younger folk think Indiana Jones.) That's the case here and the mystery as with the "Cliff Hangers" of the 1930's and 1940's leaves us panting with anticipation for the next installment in the series. which it seems the author has in works. Okay, that's fine with me I enjoyed this one after we got past the clumsy background setting and in spite of the not so subtle bashing of apparently "President-for-life" Putin and resurrected Russian Imperialism and slaps at "not-so-much-in-the shadows" VP Joe. I'll buy the next book in the series and hope for improvements in the set-up and politics while expecting more of the John Wayne blood and thunder and good old fashioned let's kick some alien backside or goop or whatever. My advice to readers --- be patient for a good space-opera read and to the author --- work on integrating the necessary backgound and set-up information into the main story line. For the latter as a good example, look at how you had Grange 'fess up to why he and his deceased XO were nearly court-martialed and instead assigned to a career dead-end assignment. As Shakespeare reminds us in a "Midsummer's Night Dream" actions tell us the story better than verbose description.

A Compelling Story of one Ship against an Alien Horde - Beautifully Written - Well Worth the Read By Jas P The Constitution is an old Legacy class ship, which has been called in to be turned into a Museum, much to the crew’s utter disgust. It is the last of the ships that defeated an enemy of aliens a long time ago in a war that nearly wiped out all of Earth and its fleet and all of the Earths colonies as well. But now the alien threat is gone, there are new ships with new ‘Smart Armour’, not the old style armour of the Constitution, which has 10metre thick armour all over her hull. Can anyone see where this is going?The story does have the standard protagonists, the disgruntled, but Stoic Captain, the annoying but soon to be likeable Female Officer, who in this case is there to decommission the ship, and turn it into the museum, but ends up being the second in command alongside the already existing second in command, a gruff but trustworthy old friend who is loyal only to the Captain, and surprisingly doesn’t like the Female Officer. There is off course a brilliant Engineer and several other instrumental crew (command and otherwise) that make up a brilliant character list. And of course there is the dreaded Alien enemy, ‘The Swarm’ as they are known. They have previously been to Earth as mentioned, 75yrs before, and after a massive war, just left, but now they are back….and it's not really a surprise!! (I think you are reading the wrong book if it was?), but then again, if they didn’t come back, it would be a kind of pointless story – I mean where would the gripping space battles be!!Yes we have all seen this story before, but it's what the Author does with it that counts.And Nick Webb, as always, does an exceptional job. This is a tremendous story with astounding characters, and a clever and well written version of this genre. I really loved it. For starters, his characters are not immortal, and I have to give him major bonus points for that, I get sick of everyone always surviving every battle/engagement…Although this is a well-worn path, Nick has given it his own flavour, and as such, his universe is captivating, beautifully detailed and with creative intelligent explanations. With his education, he is able to go into detail about the mechanics and technicalities a little more than most, giving his story a bit more of an edge I felt. The great thing is, he never gets too bogged down in detail, giving us just enough to make it interesting, but without making it tedious or getting lost in too much detail.The action scenes and battles are gripping, strategic with compelling descriptions of the ship engagements, and I loved the weaponry used, and how it was described, the specific details he uses.As for his characters, although I mentioned that they were a bit stereotypical, they still had depth to them, the Captain especially.As with the his battles and star scapes, Nick does a wonderful job with his Characters, giving us in depth characters to both love and hate. And as the story progresses, and his characters develop, you find that these opinions change as well, showing his talent for writing engaging and believable people to tell his story.It's why his books standalone from the others, the exceptional writing.This is a terrific read, well worth the effort, as his is other works. I have already started on ‘Warrior’, the second part of this series.

To paraphrase Pogo, "We have met the enemy and it is us." In this book Jay Mooreland tells us why so many investors act in ways that sabotage their own success. Of course very few of us would do this intentionally and yet many of us react emotionally to the financial events that go on around us rather than with rational thought and constructive decision-making. Mooreland's descriptions of why our emotions can overpower our brains offers a simple and easy introduction to the concepts of behavioral finance. It should be a must read for the novice as well as the experienced investor.

Great advice for investors, direct and to the point By Robert Kirk The study of behavioral economics is really starting to blossom and this book does a great job of distilling the main concepts. The author writes in plain and understandable terms and give great examples. Investors would do themselves a great service by reading this book whenever the feel especially bullish or bearish. There are books that are 3x as long that explain the same concepts but this book respects your time and gets down to the nitty gritty. Highly recommended.
