Pity Grigor. After the dictator is overthrown in his homeland, Grigor is plopped on a plane and charged with learning how American democracy works. Knowing nothing but tyranny, Grigor is eager to learn the ways of freedom. He gets far more than he bargained for. Follow Grigor as he: - Faces a gauntlet of debates, marches, and rallies - Meets bombastic presidential candidate Thaddeus and his trusty assistant Edwin - Tunes in to the obnoxious talk radio host Buck Radden - Endures the offerings of public radio - Listens to the ramblings of conspiracy theorist extraordinaire Cooper Dukes - Encounters “exceptional” American citizens of all political stripes For the sake of his country, Grigor is prepared to brave it all. That is, if he can hold on to his sanity.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Witty Satire for Our Times By Avid Reader If Jonathan Swift were our contemporary, he might have penned a humorous satire much like this one. Very little in our political scene escapes the notice of Grigor, the main character, who has been sent by his government to observe American democracy in action. Naive but persistent, he is particularly fascinated by political candidates and talk radio of both liberal and conservative leanings. Clever and thought-provoking.
