Only 2 Stars By Avid_Reader_Ed Pros -The Timeweb is a very creative concept, especially with all the alien races defined, and their various attributes, such as those that can see it and those that can't.Cons -Many authors use repetition of details to flesh out their books, but 15+ repetitions for some it seemed, many almost word for word, is ridiculous. It seems to be just a method to spread what should be probably one good novel into a trilogy so that we end up spending $15 for one ebook. If his dad's original Dune series had been this way, it would have been about 36 books instead of the 6 it was.Overall, without the repetition, I would give it maybe a 3.5 - made me wonder if Kevin Anderson really wrote 99% of the Dune follow on books, which I thought were quite good.

A little kiddish but I am a big proponent of Hard SciFi.My major problem was with the download from amazon I synced my book quite a few times but I could still tell I was missing pages. Very frustrating for an avid reader like my self. Amazon could you please put regular pages on the books, then we as consumers could definitely know we have a defective product, and can correct it.Loved the book loved the premise and will be buying the next in the series...

Brian Herbert has many similar traits to his father, the great Dune author Frank Herbert, but he falls a bit short on his late father's genius. The plot lacks some of the great depth of the Dune series, and the character development is "just OK." That said, the story is good enough to keep the reader's attention and have them coming back for more.
