Traiger Dr. Maggie Luther's book definitely lives up to being an "everything" guide to the condition known as "adrenal fatigue" (hypoadrenia), which is brought on by heightened stress-related situations reducing the body's ability to regulate hormones. The adrenal glands are small or glands on the kidneys and part of the endocrine system. The book provides very readable and useful descriptions, explanations, techniques, and recommendations for returning to a healthy lifestyle. Beginning with a discussion of the relationship between stress and the adrenal glands, the book devotes separate chapters on how we respond to stress; how it affects out health; the nature and symptoms of adrenal fatigue; diagnosing and responding to adrenal fatigue; and developing personalized strategies for healing, including dietary, lifestyle, natural therapies, and treatment protocols. Reading this book can also be very enjoyable: the chapters contain well placed inserts that engage the reader to respond to specific questions, review key ideas, and understand important facts. The book also contains more than 100 creative food preparations to help in the recovery process, from smoothies and juices to daily meals, desserts, salads, snacks, and soups. The book provides a thoughtful introduction, detailed table of contents, appendixes of references, metric conversion tables, and a detailed index. If you're looking for a book that will help you to "revive energy, boost immunity, and improve concentration for a happy, stress-free life" (as stated on the cover), Dr. Luther's, "The Everything Guide to Adrenal Fatigue" needs to be on the top of your list.

I thought I had thyroid problems, but after all tests came back "normal" (I know, they sometimes miss with this too), I decided I'd try to see what else my symptoms pointed to, and there it was... adrenal fatigue. Being a "worry wart" most of my life, I thought maybe this would be helpful, and it really has been. Good suggestions. I haven't gotten to the diet portion yet, but so far, I'm very pleased.

In 1908, Jung became an editor of the newly founded Yearbook for Psychoanalytical and Psychopathological Research. In 1909, he traveled with Freud and Sándor Ferenczi to the US to speak about psychoanalysis and, in 1910, became Chairman for Life of the International Psychoanalytical Association. While Jung worked on his Wandlungen und Symbole der Libido (Psychology of the Unconscious), tensions grew with Freud due to their disagreements over the nature of libido and religion. In 1912 these tensions came to a peak because Jung felt severely slighted after Freud visited his colleague Ludwig Binswanger in Kreuzlingen without paying him a visit. Shortly thereafter, Jung again traveled to the United States and gave the Fordham lectures, which were published as The Theory of Psychoanalysis in 1912, which is this book. It contain some remarks on Jung's dissenting view on the nature of libido, and represent largely a "psychoanalytical Jung".

THE THEORY OF PSYCHOANALYSIS (Timeless Wisdom Collection Book 615), by CARL JUNG

Beus After reading this and Sigmund Freuds general introduction of psychoanalysis I have gained a pretty good understanding of the first understandings of the unconscious. I found Jungs book much easier to read compared to the books I have read in school. He does a wonderful job keeping to point and using language easily understood by someone much less read in psychology. I also really enjoyed his examples of cases to illustrate is points. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is going to school for psychology or just simply has an interest.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A Great Psychic Explorer By Walter Stanley Over four decades ago, when I was in my early twenties, I went through certain very intense experiences as a consequence of “an irruption of unconscious content into consciousness.” This experience made me intensely interested in the work of C. G. Jung. His work helped me understand and successfully live through, this experience. While it is common for scientists to dismiss Jung as superstitious, an accusation I do not completely disagree with, it is nonetheless true that people who have not experienced such an experience are not really qualified to criticize Jung. Though I have read a number of Jung’s books, I have read nothing by him in over thirty years, and I had never read this particular book. Jung apparently wrote this at about the time of his break with Freud, and he basically points out some of the reasons for this separation from Freud. This book, therefore, seems like a good starting point for anyone interested in learning more of Jung’s ideas. Although it would be better to read Freud’s “Three Contributions to the Theory of Sex” before reading Jung’s book, since Jung refers to it often and refutes some of its assertions.Freud’s central hypothesis in the formation of a neurosis is that some traumatic event occurred in childhood which hindered the natural expression of the libido. The libido is the sexual analog of hunger. This hypothesis rests upon the notion of infantile sexuality, a notion which was denied at that time. Freud’s investigations disclosed not only but even precocious infantile sexuality, which often provoked the traumatic events which seemed to be the source of neurosis. Of course, critics accused the psychoanalysts of seeing things that were not really there. However, these critics made no studies of there own. Jung argued that it was more probable to suppose that the instinct for the preservation of the race was present in childhood than that it hits full force at puberty. In the present day it seems incredible that thinking adults could ever have denied infantile sexuality. Jung, however, disagreed with certain of Freud’s conclusions regarding infantile sexuality. Freud, for instance, asserted that the infant sucking its mother’s breast was a sexual act; Jung thought the pleasure attained by suckling was merely that of nutrition. However, since many bad habits of childhood, picking the nose, biting fingernails, etc, are linked with infantile suckling, and these habits are linked to adolescent masturbation, Freud concluded that suckling itself was a sexual act.Jung did not believe that the traumatic event was the cause of the neurosis. When reading Freud, one gets the sense that every human endeavor boils down to sex. Civilization itself is dependent upon the shame and disgust that humans supposedly naturally feel towards sex causing a sublimation of the sexual drive into more productive channels. For Jung, libido is used in the more general sense of every passionate desire. However, he still maintains that morbid and exaggerated mental attitudes are a consequence of excessive libido; that is, the libido was somehow blocked in its proper flow so there is too little for some functions and too much for others. Psychoanalysis is the method by which the just proportions are restored.Homosexuality, in those days, was explained as just another sexual dysfunction resulting from this improper blockage of libido. It is not clear that either Freud or Jung absolutely denied the possibility of congenital homosexuality, but they surely believed that it could often be explained by the blocked libido hypothesis. Jung describes a young man who had experienced homosexual desire when even younger, seemed to outgrow it as he got older, but then returned to homosexuality when the woman he wanted to marry rejected him. Nowadays we would more likely explain this as the young man tried to deny his homosexual nature by fixating on a woman who was sure to reject him. When she did, he accepted his intrinsic homosexuality. However, it seems likely that homosexuality is not congenital in all cases. What most impressed me about Jung when I first read him forty hears ago was that for him the unconscious was not just a reservoir of repressed mental garbage, as Freud insisted, but was rather the actual source of consciousness. His studies of world mythologies and fairy tales demonstrated that all cultures independently derive the same themes. Moreover, these themes are repeated in dreams, as well as in the delusions of schizophrenia. Jung’s assertion that mankind’s unconscious is collective is widely ridiculed by “scientists,” though more from mere prejudicial rather than scientific reasons. There is no “scientific” reason for insisting that consciousness does not have intrinsic existence in some primordial form. Jung no doubt made mistakes, and often drifted often into regions that can almost certainly be dismissed as superstitious. However, he was a pioneer, exploring psychic regions where no scientist had gone before. Pioneers are permitted to make mistakes; that is a poor reason to dismiss their important discoveries.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Read if you want to understand how Jung portrayed his break with Freud By Okemos56 Jung was explaining why he broke with Freud. He was definitely blaming Freud, although respectfully. For those of us who find Freud unreasonably and unattractively focused on a single idea, one more literary than scientific, Jung helps explain the attraction of Freudian theory and the excitement it created.

Clear instructions and illustrations of the Mulligan Concepts techniques and whenever appropriate adjunctive taping and home exercises for all areas of the body. Quick but thorough covetage of CROCKS and PILL acronyms that are used, followed by brief review of reasoning and principles for using MWM in Intro chapter. This is not a scientific overview and never claims to be. For that read Mobilization with Movement which proves an excellect theoretical and research based coverage of this area.

5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. highly highly suggested By des reads lots Hands down exceptional. Stacey Marie brown may be new to the PNR book world, but good God you don't want to miss her books. She has such a fluid and addicting writing style. The kind that just sucks you in and you see the whole story playing out in your head as you read, like a mental movie.I've read her books, all of them, and they keep getting better and better. Which is saying something, because I think they were already amazing from the get go.She kills me with cliffhangers. However she's got the type of books that even with a cliffhanger I can still remember the last book two or three months later. I can pick up the new release and feel all those same emotions and be right back where I was at the end of the last book.Emotions. Man, one emotion I had in spades while reading this book was anger. I was so damn angry at RYker and Amara. Just typing her name makes me wanna throw a pillow. She is the perfect villain. But Ryker, I'm so mad at him. How he acted. How he treated Zoe. It was like he was two different people. Now, curve balls. I totally didn't see these coming. Stacey surprised me and also made me laugh many times with that little Sprite. She's mad me hot, so hot, angry, love someone I thought I hated, like someone I am pretty sure I didn't like, and just all around love this book so much I didn't want it to end. So well done Stacey. So well done.

I like how she thinks and goes after what she wants. Sprig was still awesome and funny, and while Ryker sometimes has his crazy attitudes he definitely had me swooning. Amara I wanted to kick in the face. There are some twists, plenty of action and great romance!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. An adrenaline rush from the first page to the last, The Barrier Between will consistently keep your heart racing. By YA Book Madness Blog 4.5 StarsI recieved this book as a giftWhen I read City in Embers, I was wowed. I LOVED that book but this one is even better. Sometimes the sequel falls flat, no worries, just as fresh and action-packed as the first book with an added layer of carnal lust.PROS:An adrenaline rush from the first page to the last, The Barrier Between will consistently keep your heart racing. From the thrill of the Fight Club-esque arena to the fae infested wild of South America, every page is a new adventure.Sprig is hilarious. His antics are adorable. A spritely, spirited little fae monkey with an obsession with honey and all things sugar. His comments are spot on and sarcastic, bringing tons of light and laughter to a terrible situation. From his love of reality tv to his narcolepsy, every scene is filled with joy. Plus, his curses are the cutest. The beloved Viking. I didn’t think it was possible for him to get any hotter but I was WAY wrong. Ryker is sex and sin, lust and angst, desire and animalistic intentions all rolled in one very sexy package. Gruff, angry, and with a tendency towards violence, Ryker is a terrifying adversary, his whole image is menacing between his huge physique and BA ax, there’s nothing this man can’t slaughter. What’s more, when Ryder is vulnerable it’s deliciously sinful. His compassion, his battle scars, his dark past all make him a complex, deep, and devoted man. Some scenes he’s sweet and kind and others, holy hotness, get ready to fan yourself.Zoey is changed. She’s not the hardened criminal she once was, there’s a softness to her that’s very appealing especially accompanied by her rage induced tenacity in battle. Fiesty, fierce, and a killer fighter with her fists, Zoey’s alter ego, the Avenging Angel has come a long way. Above everything, Zoey is a survivor. She’ll fight until the last making her incredibly brave but what is even more admirable is her decision to open her heart to love again. Dreamy sigh.OMG the chemistry. The sexual tension and frustration is almost overwhelming it’s so strong. Every encounter is a heady mix of fury and attraction, they want to punch each other as often as they want to rip their clothes off.New characters were a pleasant surprise. Heading back to the fight ring to meet AB, tossing in a greater look at the illusive Amara, and introducing Cryogen-that man, think Jack Sparrow.CONS:Some dramatic scenes were almost too easily resolved. Just when things were starting to get dire, some twist of fate pulled them of the danger zone. I.E. the Avenging Angel fight.

4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. This book is filled with typos and bad grammar, everywhere By someguy This book is filled with typos and bad grammar, everywhere. I don't think this book was edited, certainly not proofread. I know most of these writers are in the same writers group as Martinez, but come on, at least run spell check and never turn in the first draft. Some pretty cool stories, but the errors destroy the mood.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great read By David M Rowan Did not want to put it down. Enjoyed reading different authors. I like the different look of the afterlife by the authors.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great Author By Richard Schwab I liked his Automatic Detective the best but also the Nameless Witch, and several other of his stories. Really fun reading from off the wall directions. I hope this guy gets rich. He sure brightens my week when the world is a really nasty place.

Have you recently retired or is retirement rapidly approaching? Have you sold your business or are you considering doing so? Are you newly married or divorced? Are you dealing with the death of a loved one? Are you the recent recipient of a financial windfall? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you share a common trait with millions of Americans—your life is in transition. And chances are, your money is in transition as well. Major life transitions are times of financial instability, and the decisions you make at these moments have long-lasting effects. This short book is designed to help you navigate your life transitions by making wise financial decisions during times when wisdom can be hard to come by. The book's premise is a simple fact: Life transitions present enormous financial opportunities and challenges. This may seem like an obvious statement. Perhaps less obvious are the following two separate but related truths: 1. Financial decisions made during significant life transitions have an outsized impact on our long-term wealth. 2. During periods of transition, we are often the least equipped to make good decisions. Understanding these two truths, and more importantly, understanding what to do about them, can prevent years of negative financial consequences and unnecessary confusion. It can make your own life, and the lives of your family and loved ones, easier and richer—not just financially, but emotionally as well.
