About the Author

Tanya Hodge, MS, RN, CNS, CCRN, CNRN, is a cardiovascular clinical nurse specialist, certified critical care nurse, and certified neuroscience registered nurse. She worked clinically in a variety of cardiac-related settings, including cardiac telemetry, transplant/metabolic clinical nursing, cardiology intensive care nursing, and cardiovascular research at University of California–Davis Medical Center. She was a cardio vascular CNS at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, California, between 2007 and 2013. Since 2013, she has worked as nurse manager of the Cardiac Interventional Unit and Progressive Care Unit and, most recently, the Medical/Surgical/Neuro Intensive Care Unit at Mercy General. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses.

As a travel nurse transitioning to a cardiac step down this book gave me everything I need to know any focus on, even if I did need to dig into some other resources for more in depth info. I did pick up a companion cardiac pharmacology book as well to complement the info as this book isn't heavy on Rx info. Great buy and highly recommend!

By Sue Kay Davis I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW AND THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION OVER 18 READING I started this book just to see if I would like it, three hours later I was wishing for the next part because I didn't want to stop reading it. So it goes to say ,BOY, I hope it comes out soon. I will be chewing my nails to see what happens with Thomas and Ceres. Has she always just wanted him to be a tough , demanding Alpha ? Has she been playing him for years , just wanting to do something he would finally call a halt to and force her to behave? Is she just a rich, spoiled were-woman having her fun, not caring who gets hurt? You have a wonderful story of a young wolf girl who seemed to care a lot for her young human male friend in middle school. Nineteen years later they are still best friends, only he is the same as her , just not born that way. Of course he loves her secretly , and she doesn't seem to know or care . Even though he's been a werewolf for 19 years she doesn't see the quite, supportive, caring man as an alpha, and as a alpha's daughter she is expected to mate an alpha and become leaders of the pack. I will love to read more from this author.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A wonderful new story in the author's shifter universe By Shay VanZwoll Training the Alpha is the first book in a series about werewolves in Texas. In this book, we are introduced to Thomas, a man who was bitten and changed into a werewolf at a young age by Ceres, the daughter of the local Alpha. Set some time after he was changed, Thomas and Ceres now live together in a small town, Atropos, while Ceres finishes her schooling as a veterinarian and Thomas deals with his feelings for her. Intertwined with this story of their bonding are Thomas' trials to become the new Alpha of the sister pack being formed.The naming in this book can be clever and unusual in spots. For example, the story is set in Atropos - a town created by the author - which happens to be the name of one of the Greek Fates, specifically the Fate who cuts the threads. Given the events of the book, this town seems to be appropriately named.I really enjoyed this book. I first read it when it was published as the first part of a four part serial, but the author has since re-written the story and fleshed it out considerably, creating a wonderful culture and storyline that ties in with her other stories. If you've read some of her other books, it is great to meet and see references to characters you've already met and fallen in love with, and if you haven't it's a great introduction to the wider world of Vivienne Savage's shifter universe. The characters in all of the books are well-written, and Training the Alpha is no exception. You will quickly grow to love the main characters while hoping for the downfall of those who would hinder them, anticipating the next twist in the tale.Warning: This book contains explicit sex and adult language, menage situations, and violence. 18+ readers only.NOTE: This review has been re-written to accurately reflect the newly released book.I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

You got to get it to get the story.I am and have been a professional sales trainer myself and have read MANY books on the subject, however this one is highly unusual. It does not beat one up all about how you got to push, push, push to sell.Rather these guys take the path of interest. The interest that a salesperson needs to have in his potential customers in order to service his customers with utmost sincerity. In the end the price difference including shipping tipped the balance in favour of digital and I'm so pleased I did By frankie One of the seminal textbooks in Periodontology. I spent a bit of time contemplating digital vs hardcover and was mainly worried about how pictures and things would look (as the sample gives little detail). In the end the price difference including shipping tipped the balance in favour of digital and I'm so pleased I did. The pictures are fantastic - its exactly the same as the printed version. Its very easy to navigate the book. It covers all of the important topics. And its great to have it on all my devices for quick referencing. You can't copy and paste details but I guess you can't do that with the printed copy either.

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Not for undergraduates By Hans-Peter Muller As in its fifth edition, the work appears in two volumes called basic concepts and clinical concepts. A change among the editors has occurred, Lindhe and Lang are responsibe for the first volume while Lang and Lindhe for the second. The work is heavy, both in its content as physically. Many of my colleagues have already striked the previous 5th edition of Lindhe’s textbook from the recommended reading list for undergraduates. Two volumes with more than 1400 pages altogether appears inappropriate for a topic which may or may not be regarded a core discipline in dentistry. The same applies to the main American textbook on Periodontology, Carranza’s. Sometimes less is more. For postgraduate training, both works are indispensable, of course. Not for undergraduates.What the cover of Volume 1, Basic Concepts, displays is anyway remarkable. Bad dentistry on the cover of a 21st century textbook edited by the two leading dental researchers?

By Regina Drahnak I have loved this series, but truly have disliked the typos and grammatical problems that have cropped up in Ms. Reeves' books. She really needs to get a new editor who doesn't depend on Spell Check. Every one takes you out of the story and makes it choppy. That being said, this book was very annoying. Goldie seemed to take a step backwards in maturity. And when the heck did she get married??? Why didn't we see any of that? And, Ms. Reeves, I get it already! All living beings are important. Don't disrespect those alive. Preach, preach, preach - this book was half sermon!. I ended up skipping huge portions once the blah, blah, blah started yet again. Hopefully the next book will have these problems fixed and there will be true character development throughout the book, not just in the last few pages.

By Phare-Camp Not as many typos as all the other books in this series but not as compelling either...I had to skip over a lot of boring parts...the worst was the whole chapter or two with Thantos' ridiculous ultimatum and Goldie's angst over making a choice...it added nothing to the story and spent way too much time in Goldie's head. In fact the whole book wasted a lot of time in Goldie's childish inner dialogue.

A frustrating addition to an entertaining series By Amazon Customer I've enjoyed this series - it's not high literature but it's been an entertaining read. However, this latest installment seems rushed, unplanned and very rough, not to mention badly edited and was frustrating to read. I've given it 3 stars more because I've liked the previous books - had this been the first I wouldn't have read any others. Better work next time Ms Reeves. I know you are capable of it!

Harry Dresden, the 'anti-hero' of the book is a detective who is also a licensed wizard. Unlike Randall Garrett's Lord Darcy, however, Harry is more of a gumshoe than an aesthete. He's like a combination of Phillip Marlowe and Glen Cook's Garrett, P.I. Think of him as a magic wand with an attitude. A thirty pound cat with half a tail and an oversexed skull in his basement don't help his image either. He makes a thin living finding the lost and helping the police, despite being the only wizard listed in the Chicago Yellow Pages.Dresden, broke as usual, answers a police call for assistance, and discovers a gruesome double murder. The two victims, caught in flagrante delicto, have had their hearts blown out through their rib cages. Detective Karrin Murphy wants answers fast, but Crime boss Johnny Marcone wants Dresden out of the case. Dresden's other case is searching for a missing husband who seems to have had an unhealthy interest in magic. And the last complication is the White Council, who think that Harry Dresden just might be dipping a little to far into the black magic side, and intend to flatten him if there is any further hint of magic abuse.Harry is a bit of a luckless sort. In attempting to question the vampire hostess of an upscale house of ill repute he makes a serious enemy of what could best be described as an old bat. One of his information sources then turns up dead the same way as the first couple. A demon nearly turns him and his date into pudding and a giant scorpion attempts to take out Detective Murphy and Dresden with one swipe of a very deadly tail. And, without fail, Harry is pestered at every step by an obnoxious representative of the White Council.Unfortunately, as either wizard of gumshoe, Harry is a bit hapless. He knows his stuff, but he is forever forgetting his gun, dropping his staff and getting ambushed by bad guys. As a result he is always coming from behind, which is a bad place to be when you are chasing the black wizard who is saturating the city in a dangerous new drug that not only gets you high, but opens your third eye as well. Harry is more of the rush right in where angels fear to tread type than he is the careful planner. It doesn't help that he has a bit of a hero complex as well.Ok, the magic is a bit hokey and the language is slightly overblown. Other than Harry the characters are right out of a cheat book. Even Harry is a bit hackneyed. But the plot is original and well laid out. Narrative skills come with maturity, and Jim Butcher is still a novice storyteller. In a wave of tedious, repetitive genre tales, "Storm Front" stands out as something worth a second look. It will be a while though before I forgive him for the following tidbit. "...he picked me up to hurl me toward the demon. I objected with fragile tenacity."

Well OK, I was able to catch my breath but poor Harry hardly ever does. The Harry here is Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden and the narrator seems to "get" him as much as the author does. The book starts with a pair of grisly murders and Harry has been brought in on the case by the Captain of Chicago's Special Investigations unit. There is a mob connection and a drug connection and people that seem to want Harry dead.What James Marsters accomplishes in narration is nothing short of magical. He not only does justice to the voices of a host of characters, he makes you feel like you've traveled this journey with him and when Harry is bone weary you can feel it through Mr. Marster's voice. I know he has done the next 3 books in this series already, and I hope he does them all.

There truly is no other book like it By JohnSays I have a rather full library of books on health as I have sought to understand a physical problem i have suffered for 10 years that is now finally resolving. In my journey few books have had as much real solid information as this one. I congratulate the author, not only for a well written book, but for the immense about of original research reported to us. Dr. Tennant has defined and codified the use of electricity in the body. He has mapped the "wiring" to all body parts and has provided a system of treatment to the reader that can restore health. He has unified the flows of acupuncture, the chakras and the nervous system. There truly is no other book like it.The book is now in it's third iteration. Much was added between the 2nd and 3rd publishing. For example the chapter on fulvic acid.I will state that I have been using an electrical energy device for about 3 years, and if I had not had it, I would hate to contemplate the condition I would be in without it. No, it is not the Biomodulator (his energy device) and I do not mention what it is because I do not want to taint or take away from this review by directing attention elsewhere. The point is, the use of electrons and frequency are vital elements of healing and living fully. Dr. Tennant had gifted us with a treasure in this book. Anyone who wants to understand the use of electrons and frequency in the body will not be disappointed.

Unfortunately the devices and his supplements are very expensive and out of reach for the common person who is struggling with finances. Health is for the Rich.

Nobody will experience depression if we always look on the bright side of everything. Maybe for some of us it’s hard but I guess through this book we will be able to have a better understanding of what is happening in our life. We will always be in control of ourselves and of the situation. The book is educational and very helpful. Signs, types and causes of depression were discussed. Also contains the recommended supplement and natural remedies for depression.
