1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Much Needed and absolutely Excellent Resource for Vascular Tumors, Proliferations, and Malformations By Pathoma Excellent Book. First, there have been no pathology textbooks that have focused exclusively on vascular tumors, proliferations, and malformations. Many textbooks cover these lesions, but they are may not cover them as in depth as they should be as they can occur anywhere in the body. The benefit of this book, while being mainly focused on vascular lesions that predominantly occur in the soft tissue and skin, takes the added step to characterize these lesions in every anatomic site and offers the appropriate differential diagnoses for these sites. Furthermore, this text offers the decision making paradigms and approach to diagnosis necessary to adequately assist the everyday practicing pathologist.The images are beautiful. The number of clinical photographs, radiographic images, and gross images are probably the most I've seen in any textbook and significantly contribute to the overall quality of the book as it is often reinforced throughout the book how much of a multidisciplinary approach is absolutely necessary to make the diagnosis of certain vascular lesions. The histologic images are very detailed and descriptive offering site specific histology as well as all the histologic variants supporting its use as a reference text. All major tumor entities from the most common to the rare are thoroughly discussed and covered in exceptional detail. The authors and contributors are excellent, all having worked at the top institutions across the country ranging from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Emory University, and Cleveland Clinic among others.
