DO NOT purchase if you want an English Crossword Dictionary.Also, has a rather smaller page format than our previous edition and a smaller typefont.

It is too bulky for me, and find it hard to handle. It measures 6 3/4 L and 4 1/4 W and the thickness is 2 1/4.. My other Crossword Dictionary was almost the size of a hard cover book.

Realistic assessment of Ageing By Rafael This is an excellent assessment of ageing myths and misunderstanding of our conception of the old wise man. It also underscores the generation differences and why one generation sees reality differently. It's a comparison between the creative wisdom of the child myth vs the wisdom of the old wise man. A very powerful and frightening analysis of ageing and of its reality!

As a movement toward the further development of human consciousness in individuals, in cultural traditions, and in international arenas where the relations among diverse cultures have become such a pressing issue today, understanding the principle of individuation has relevance for students and workers in many fields. The principium individuationis is a phrase with a long and distinguished history in philosophy, extending from the Middle Ages to Leibniz, Locke, and Schopenhauer. In Jungian psychology, it is brought into the contemporary world as a psychological principle that speaks of the innate human tendency to become distinct and integrated-to become conscious of our purpose, who and what we are, and where we are going. Dr. Murray Stein is a supervising training analyst and former president of The International School of Analytical Psychology in Zurich, Switzerland (ISAP Zurich). He is the author of Jung's Treatment of Christianity as well as many other books and articles in the field of Jungian Psychoanalysis. Dr. Stein was also editor of Jung's Challenge to Contemporary Religion. From 2001 to 2004 he was president of the International Association for Analytical Psychology. Dr. Stein routinely presents live webinars with the Asheville Jung Center and has an extensive online video library with them. He has lectured internationally and presently makes his home in Switzerland.

About the Author Murray B Stein, M.D., F.R.C.P.C., is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), and Director of the Anxiety & Traumatic Stress Program at UCSD and at the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System. His research interests include social phobia, panic disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. Dr. Stein has published over 150 articles on these topics in professional journals such as "The Lancet" and the "Journal of the American Medical Association". He is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America. Dr. Stein lives in San Diego.

John R. Walker, Ph.D., is a registered clinical psychologist and Director of the Anxiety Disorders Program at St. Boniface General Hospital in Winnipeg, Canada. He is also Professor of Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Manitoba and supervises senior clinical psychology students in their training in treatment of anxiety disorders. He is an editor of "Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia: A Comprehensive Guide for the Practitioner" and has written chapters on social anxiety disorder and treatment of intense illness worries. Dr. Walker has a special interest in self-help approaches to treatment of anxiety disorders and has completed treatment evaluation studies demonstrating the benefits of self-help materials with panic disorder and social phobia. He lives in Winnipeg.

I saw him promoting his book (indie author) on Twitter, and decided to give it a try. What a great find. First, a question: Are you a Douglas Adams fan? Not the "I know he's a big author, so I'll say I like his books" kind of fan, but "quirky, makes you think, wait, how did we get here?" kind of fan. Cusick's first book, Meme, has some similarities to the Restaurant style: The protagonist is in a wacky situation, completely adrift but trying desperately to stay afloat, and keeps having his perception of reality challenged. Not like an acid trip, but just a little off - cats serving drinks at a bar, getting into a fight with a samurai - just another typical day (haha). If you tried to read Adams and couldn't keep up - don't read this, it will be just as confusing. For those of us who appreciate that style of story, grab your towel and get ready for another ride (sans towel this time)!

By Amazon Customer As Jack is a friend, I felt a certain compulsion to read this, his first novel, even tho' it is out of my usual genre (historical fiction), but he caught me in the first few sentences. I don't know why that should surprise me as I saw a lot of his own quirky personality traits within the characters. I also enjoyed the allusions to other things such as the "do you know Jesus" and who he turned out to be. Great twists -- I could never quite get where we were going until we got there, which kept me engaged. I would love a sequel and more of Meme. Cannot wait!

This is not a book...it's 4 pages long and the info is nothing more than a definition of what short selling stocks is all about and you could easily find the same info for free by simply googling short selling stocks.I have asked Amazon for a refund and I would recommend that they remove it for sale to maintain integrity in what they offer the public via their website...or at least they should tell you of the 4 pages of limited content...I have purchased many Kindle books over the years and this is a first for gutter level material...hope it's the last.

I don't have any experience with buying and selling stocks. After reading Mike's easy to follow guide on how to short sell a stock, I felt like I had enough information to start keeping an eye on stocks that will drop and gear up towards buying and selling soon. The content is brief and to the point, with a lot of great examples of how short selling works. It was also useful to have the web link to the Wall Street Journal's current list of high short interest stocks so I could jump right in to looking up stocks. This is a great reference tool that I plan to use when I am ready to jump in to buy and sell in the market.

Fortunately, I read this for free with my KU subscription. Had I paid actual money for what is basically an e-pamphlet, I would have e-mailed customer service and asked for my money back. If you want to learn how to short stocks, look for better sources of information than this rubbish.

In those series, the writing style is similar - high paced, informal language, gratuitous sex. Fun, but not very serious.This book has an entirely different feel, much more refined, profound and mature. Essentially, it's a single-character narrative, with the universe unfolding around one central character, Captain Sparhawk. Excluding that, nothing is the same as Larson's previous work. I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter for what seems to be a significant shift in Larson's writing.

A new universe for Mr. Larson and it could prove very interesting as a series. Some of the science isn't great, but easily overlooked.I rate it PG-13 for language and violence. He doesn't disappoint with this book and his writing skills continue to improve. Earth has been severed from her many planetary colonists for over a century and a half. The "cataclysm", a solar flare event similar in nature to the "Carrington Event" of the mid 19th Century, destroys Earth's ability to access worm holes which makes deep space exploration possible.Star Guard Lt. Commander Sparhawk, a bumbling, by the book, Inspector Clouseau type character has the fate of the world thrust upon his shoulders when a derelict space ship is discovered out near the mining colonies of the asteroid belt surrounding Jupiter.Sparhawk begins to shed his innocence and grow towards his true heroic nature. Can he save the world? He is damned sure going to try... A fast paced adventurous romp. A great cast of characters. Another Larson success.

If this is the author's first book then he is off to an excellent career and I look forward to and will buy his next book. Character development was good and generally believable, detail level was pretty good and story line was good. This was a relatively short book but had none of the increasingly more common tricks to make it look longer (like adding spacing). More of a long short story than a book but well worth the ninety-nine cents. Would like to see more detail and length in his next book.

Layne I get this strange feeling that I'm one of the few non-preppers reviewing this book (maybe not, but it feels that way), but I wanted to write this to show that non-preppers like it, too.I thought the practical advice peppered throughout the book was interesting, but the characters and the voice of the author were what did it for me. Yes, there were grammatical and POV errors here and there, but nothing that stopped me for too long, and nothing that a quick edit couldn't fix. Getting an edit is easy. Writing a sincere, interesting story is NOT, and thankfully Boyd succeeded in doing that.Throughout, the plot pulled me along, and as the end approached, I had a real hard time putting my kindle down. Overall, this first installment seems to me like its a realistic portrayal of what could happen both from a disaster and from a downfall of society standpoint. But I mostly like the way that a makeshift family builds around Blake and his simple, but honest nature. This story shows the bad that will probably come about if a disaster like this occurs, but it also shows the good.

I really enjoyed the story and found myself falling into the characters right away. It surprised me a bit since it usually takes me a bit longer to get into a story.Sure there were a few errors I saw, but they were easily overlooked and I powered right through them anyway. I found the story short but sweet and was really upset that it ended so quickly. That is the way shorter books are now and for the price at .99 cents or in my case Kindle Unlimited, makes perfect sense to me. Lucky for me the second installment was already out and I didn't have to wait for the next one. :)

Another fun and exciting read!After a devastating world war in the near future that destroyed most of the population, a group of survivors formed The Vista, a safe haven for other survivors. Security are in charge of the safety of The Vista, keeping the citizens safe from Nomads and Scavengers. A group of Nomads are determined to wreak havoc in The Vista and it's up to Security to stop them.Backlash is a great prequel to The Vista! It takes place 3 years before The Vista and centers around the Blackout. The formation of Team Three, the events leading up to the Blackout and what happened during. I loved learning more of what Mac and Wade went through during that time, while also learning exactly what Shan's part in stopping the Nomad attack was. Things that were only briefly mentioned in The Vista were really fleshed out in this prequel and flowed very nicely. All the pieces fit in perfectly.I didn't find a dull moment in the novella. The story was full of action and suspense. More back story with the characters. While they grew up together, what Team Three went through during the Blackout really strengthens that bond between them that we see in The Vista, I think. And shows what a great team they make, how much they truly trust one another with their lives.I also love the interaction between the other characters. The relationships Team Three have with other members of Security, those they trust with their secret. The relationships they have with each other. Getting more back story with the characters made me love them even more. And feel more invested in them. We also learn a bit more of what Team Three is capable of when it comes to their special abilities.The only negative thing I can say is that I finished reading it too quickly. I've since read it two more times and I want more! I am now anxiously waiting for the 2nd book in the series! Really, really loved it!

Vista.There’s a romantic couple, but honestly the effort to survive takes almost every waking and some non-waking hours.If you enjoy battles and struggles to survive, this is your book/series.If you like a strong, competent hero AND heroine, you’ll love these two. But be warned, good people die or get injured.I felt the ending was a bit abrupt, but given how much I enjoyed the rest of the book I didn’t care. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

The author created characters I could like, used scenery and pace to create the world without harping on details that aren't necessary. Now, I'm going to start on The Vista, cuz Shan, Wade, Mac and the others don't want me to wait. And neither do I! :-D

The story of Jin, and her unplanned quest to true self discovery is nothing short of amazing. The intriguing tale that crosses lines of human flaw, and angelic understanding schools the reader on life, after life and all the spaces in between. Jade Brieanne has created a world that we as humans only try to understand, or dream about- not having the tools to truly see what it is we may believe, she lets us in on her world and helps us to see in such a creative way. Jin and Aidens' love that literally jumps through realms shows us how love lasts, Shen's understandable insanity creates the perfect villain, one you understand and sometimes feel sorry for, Key (my favorite), Tahir, Rooke turns this fantastical story into a reality you wished you yourself could experience. But, along with all the other characters so intricately described, giving images that the reader doesn't have to work for in order to see, you almost believe that you are- you are experiencing it! Needless to say, I couldn't put the book down. I NEEDED to know what happened at the end of each page. I HAD to know where the story was moving to... I couldn't let any of the characters go...I'm still wondering a million things- that I have to wait to read in book two.Oh! Oh! and reading about all these beautiful brown people in this book, had me weeeeeeping. I, as a child, loved reading scifi, fantasy, fiction but never saw myself in the book, which is so important when it comes to really diving into a book, loving a book, experiencing the book, getting hooked, becoming a life long reader, I was proud. I felt proud of myself- even though the story ain't about me!This is the perfect gift, for anyone. At any time.Congrats to the author! I CANNOT WAIT FOR BOOK TWOOOOOOOOOOO 10 STARS 20 STARSShe created another language, ya'll- do you know how HARD that is? The names were unique and interesting.The time jumps within the book was nothing short of incredible, the inconspicuous foreshadowing, the subtle attention to detail for each character- everyone was important. Every character has a purpose, which is what you- as a reader, it helps you look for new clues on what's next. That's what hooks you! I feel characters I read about in earlier chapters, I'd forgotten about, showed up later and that had me JACKED UP! I was like...ohhhhhhhh!!!My goodness....this book!Get. The. Damn. Book. If. You. If you are looking for something to blow your mind and not want to put the book down, The Halo of Maris is for you. It has a writing style that is similar to one of my favorite authors, Dan Brown, and fills the mind as if I was actually there. The story is a must read and I am telling you I am hooked and waiting on the next book. A must read for the curious minds especially those Dan Brown fans out there.

Stylistically outstanding and well beyond just "good", this story take you on a complete narrative and imaginative journey and by the end, the only thing that is needed is...another book to continue this spectacular story. By TFLReader I have come to believe, through much study and personal trials, that we are all connected and all moving towards some sort of awakening. However, some of us have a greater awareness, if at all, of this fact than others and the lack of this is what gives many the illusion of separation. Author Brian T Baulsom has written a revolutionary book that ties together so many areas of study - such as astrology, psychology, numerology, physics, the bible - that it is both a fascinating read and quite enlightening. The research undertaken for this is impressive in itself and I also found Baulsom's personal story to be very interesting. Definitely recommend this one.

The Secrets Of The Young And Rich is not so much a book about how to get rich as it is a book about how to change your behavior and mindset regarding money, with becoming rich a side effect of wealth-building behaviors. Saving money and investing requires focus and good planning, so the focus of this book being on how one thinks and acts regarding money makes a lot of sense. I think a lot of the advice is sound, and will definitely help those looking to grow their savings. If you want to become rich, this is a good place to start.
